Atlas Guide
Everything you need to set up, sell, deliver, and get paid. Step by step, in plain language.
Getting Started
Atlas lets you sell anything (food, groceries, products, services) through WhatsApp. Your customers chat to order, pay online, and receive same-day delivery. You don't need an app, a website, or any technical skills.
How to register
Message us on WhatsApp. Send a message to our Atlas number to get started. Our AI assistant will walk you through the setup conversation.
Tell us about your business. You'll be asked for your business name, type (restaurant, grocery, pharmacy, etc.), address, and operating hours. The whole thing takes about five minutes.
Receive your portal link. Once registered, you'll get a personal management link via WhatsApp. This link is your login, so bookmark it. No username or password needed.
Tip
Your portal link is private to you. Don't share it with anyone you don't trust. It gives full access to your business on Atlas.
Your dashboard
When you open your portal link, you'll land on your dashboard. This is your home base. From here you can see:
- Your business name, status, and type
- Total revenue and order counts
- Today's orders and pending orders
- How many products you have listed
- Quick links to your catalogs, orders, payouts, and profile
Setting Up Your Profile
Your profile is the first thing to set up properly. It tells customers who you are and when you're open.
What you can edit
- Business name: your brand name as customers see it
- Business type: restaurant, grocery, pharmacy, or other
- Address: used for rider pickup and customer proximity
- Logo: upload a JPEG, PNG, or WebP image (under 2 MB)
- Operating hours: set your open and close times for each day of the week
Important
Once your account is approved, your business name, type, and address become read-only. Make sure they're correct before approval. Your logo and operating hours can always be changed.
Setting your operating hours
Go to Profile in the top nav. Scroll down to the weekly schedule section. For each day, set your opening and closing time, or mark the day as closed. Customers can only place orders during your open hours.
Tip
Be realistic with your hours. If you close early on some days, set that here so customers aren't disappointed by unaccepted orders.
Creating Your Catalog
A catalog is a grouping of products. Think of it like a menu or a product list. You can have one catalog for everything, or split them up: "Lunch Menu", "Drinks", "Weekend Specials", etc.
Creating a catalog
Go to Catalogs in the top nav.
Click New Catalog.
Give it a name and save. Now you can add products to it.
Active vs inactive catalogs
Each catalog has an Active toggle. Only active catalogs are visible to customers on WhatsApp. You can deactivate a catalog temporarily (for example, a seasonal menu) without deleting it.
Multiple catalogs
You can create as many catalogs as you need. This is useful if you sell different things at different times, like a breakfast menu and a dinner menu. Each catalog can have its own set of products.
Tip
Start with one catalog. You can always split things up later as your business grows.
Adding Products
Products are the items your customers can order. Each product belongs to a catalog and has a name, price, and optional description, photo, category, and preparation time.
Adding a product manually
Go to Catalogs → select your catalog → click Products.
Click New Product.
Fill in the details:
- Name: what customers will see (e.g. "Jollof Rice", "Laptop Bag")
- Price: the selling price
- Description: optional but helpful for customers
- Category: helps organise your products (e.g. "Mains", "Drinks")
- Photo: a clear image of the product
- Preparation time: how long it takes to prepare (in minutes)
- Available: toggle off if temporarily out of stock
Save. Your product is now live (if the catalog is active).
Editing and managing products
You can edit any product at any time: update the price, change the photo, toggle availability, or move it to a different catalog. If you have multiple catalogs, the edit page lets you reassign a product to another catalog.
Tip
Use the Available toggle to temporarily remove items that are out of stock, instead of deleting them. You can turn them back on when you restock.
Importing a Menu
If you already have a menu or product list somewhere, you don't need to add items one by one. Atlas can import your products automatically using AI.
Import methods
From a URL
Google Sheets, Google Docs, or any public webpage with your menu
From a PDF
Upload a PDF version of your menu (up to 10 MB)
From a Photo
Snap a photo of your menu board or price list (JPEG, PNG, WebP)
How to import
Go to Catalogs → click Import Products.
Choose your source: either paste a URL (your Google Sheet link, Google Doc link, or a public webpage with your products) or upload a file (PDF or image of your menu).
Wait for extraction. Our AI reads your menu and extracts product names, prices, descriptions, and categories. This usually takes under a minute. The page auto-refreshes while processing.
Review and edit. You'll see a table of extracted products. Check names and prices, fix anything the AI got wrong, and deselect any items you don't want to import.
Choose a target catalog and pick your import mode:
- Add: adds the new products alongside your existing ones
- Replace: removes all existing products in that catalog and replaces them with the imported ones
Confirm. Selected products are created in your catalog and become available to customers.
Good to know
You can import up to 500 products at a time and run up to 3 imports simultaneously. If the AI picks up images from a webpage, they'll be attached to your products automatically.
Best results with Google Sheets
For the cleanest import, use a Google Sheet with columns for Name, Price, Description, and Category. Make the sheet publicly accessible (or "anyone with the link can view"), then paste the share link into the import form.
Tip
You can re-import anytime. If your prices change often, keep a Google Sheet updated and import again using Replace mode to refresh your catalog in one step.
Receiving & Handling Orders
When a customer places an order that includes your products, you'll receive a notification on WhatsApp. You can also see all your orders in the portal.
Order lifecycle
How it works
You receive a new order. A WhatsApp message shows you what was ordered, the customer name, and the total. The order appears as "Pending" in your portal.
Accept or reject. Reply on WhatsApp in your own words. "Yes", "accepted", "we can do that" all work. Or say "no", "can't do this one", "reject". No special commands needed. You can also manage orders from the portal.
Prepare the order. Once you start working on it, the status moves to "Preparing". The customer is notified that their order is being made.
Mark as ready. When the order is packaged and waiting, mark it as "Ready". This triggers rider dispatch, so a delivery rider is assigned and heads to your location.
Rider picks up. The rider arrives, collects the order, and confirms pickup. You're done. The rider handles delivery from here.
Tip
You don't need to memorise commands. Just reply to Atlas on WhatsApp naturally: "it's ready", "order is done", "preparing now". The AI understands you.
Viewing orders in the portal
Go to Orders in the nav to see all your orders. You can filter by status (pending, accepted, preparing, ready, picked up, rejected) to find what you need quickly. Click any order to see full details: line items, fees, your earnings, and a timeline of events.
Payouts & Earnings
You earn money on every completed order. Atlas handles payment collection from customers and settles your share directly to your bank account.
How earnings work
When a delivery is completed, you receive your share of the order subtotal. Atlas deducts a small platform fee and handles delivery costs separately. You can see exactly what you earned on each order in the order detail page.
Setting up your bank account
Go to Payouts in the nav.
Click Add Bank Account (or Update if you already have one).
Select your bank from the dropdown and enter your account number. Atlas verifies your account details automatically.
Save. You're all set. Payouts will go to this account.
Important
You must add a bank account to receive payouts. Without one, your earnings accumulate but can't be transferred to you.
Payout schedule
Payouts are processed daily at end of day. Your earnings from completed deliveries are settled to your bank account. The Payouts page shows your next payout date, recent payouts, and your earnings breakdown (today, this week, this month, all time).
Analytics
The Analytics page gives you a clear picture of how your business is performing on Atlas.
What you can see
- Revenue summary: total earnings over a date range
- Popular items: which products sell the most
- Order status breakdown: how many orders were completed, cancelled, etc.
- Orders by day: a day-by-day table of order activity
You can adjust the date range to look at any period up to 60 days. Use this to spot trends, see what's selling, and plan your menu or inventory.
Tip
Check your analytics weekly. If a product isn't selling, consider updating its price or photo. If something is consistently popular, make sure you always have it in stock.
Tips & FAQ
How do I update my menu quickly?
Keep a Google Sheet with your current products and prices. When things change, update the sheet and use Import → Replace to refresh your catalog in one step. No need to edit products one by one.
Can I pause my business temporarily?
Yes. Deactivate all your catalogs from the Catalogs page. Customers won't see your products until you reactivate them. You can also adjust your operating hours to reflect days you're closed.
What if I need to reject an order?
Reply on WhatsApp with something like "can't do this order" or "reject". It's best to respond quickly so the customer can reorder elsewhere. Frequent rejections may affect your standing, so only accept orders you can fulfil.
Can customers see my address?
Customers see your business name and general area, but your exact address is used primarily for rider pickup navigation. Your full address is not displayed to customers.
How do I contact support?
Message us on WhatsApp at any time. You can also visit the Support page for more options.
Getting Started
Atlas connects you with delivery requests in your area. You receive jobs on WhatsApp, respond naturally, and get paid at the end of every day. No app download required.
How to register
Message us on WhatsApp. Send a message to our Atlas number and tell us you'd like to ride. Our AI assistant guides you through registration.
Share your details. You'll be asked for your name, phone number, vehicle type (bicycle, motorcycle, or car), and the area you'd like to deliver in.
Receive your portal link. You'll get a personal management link via WhatsApp. Bookmark it. This is how you access your dashboard, deliveries, and earnings.
Next step
After registration, you'll need to submit your documents for verification before you can start accepting deliveries. See the next section.
Your dashboard
Your dashboard shows:
- Your name, status, and whether you're online
- Total earnings and today's earnings
- Total deliveries, today's deliveries, and active deliveries
- Quick links to deliveries, payouts, documents, and profile
Document Verification
Before you can accept deliveries, we need to verify your identity. This is a one-time process and it's all done through the portal. No office visits needed.
Required documents
- Driver's licence: a clear photo of your valid driver's licence or government-issued ID
- Proof of address: a utility bill or bank statement from the last 6 months showing your name and address
- Selfie: a clear photo of your face (used to match against your licence photo)
How to submit
Open your portal link and go to the Documents page.
Upload each required document. Make sure photos are clear, well-lit, and show the full document. No cropping or blur.
AI reviews your documents automatically. You'll receive a WhatsApp message for each document, either confirming it was verified or explaining what needs to be fixed.
What happens after verification
Once all three documents are verified, your account is automatically approved. You'll receive a WhatsApp notification confirming you're approved and can start accepting deliveries.
Tip
Submit all three documents at once for the fastest approval. Make sure each photo is clear and shows the full document. Blurry or cropped images may be rejected.
If a document is rejected
You'll get a WhatsApp message explaining why (e.g. "image was blurry" or "document appears expired"). Follow the instructions and resubmit through the Documents page.
Setting Up Your Profile
Your profile tells Atlas where you deliver and when you're available.
What you can edit
- Name: your display name
- Vehicle type: bicycle, motorcycle, or car
- Base zone: the area where you prefer to receive delivery requests
- Address: your home or starting location (editable until your account is approved)
- Operating hours: the days and times you're typically available to deliver
Important
Your phone number is linked to your WhatsApp and cannot be changed from the portal. Your address becomes read-only after approval. If you need to change either, contact support.
Setting your schedule
In Profile, set your operating hours for each day of the week. Atlas uses this to know when you're potentially available for deliveries, even if you haven't manually gone online. If it's within your scheduled hours and you're approved, you may receive delivery requests.
Going Online
Atlas only assigns deliveries to riders who are available. Your availability has three states:
- Online: you're actively available and will receive delivery requests
- Offline: you won't receive any delivery requests
- Busy: you're currently on a delivery and unavailable for new ones
How availability works
You're considered "available for dispatch" when you meet all of these conditions:
- Your account is approved (documents verified)
- You're online (or it's within your scheduled operating hours)
- You're not currently flagged or already on an active delivery
Tip
If you set accurate operating hours, Atlas can consider you available during those times even without manually toggling online. But going explicitly online is the surest way to receive requests.
Accepting Deliveries
When a vendor marks an order as ready, Atlas looks for available riders nearby. If you're online and in range, you'll receive a delivery request on WhatsApp.
What you'll see
The delivery request includes the vendor name and location, the customer's delivery address, and the order details. You can also view full delivery details in your portal under Deliveries.
How to accept
Reply on WhatsApp naturally. "I'll take it", "yes", "accept", "on my way" all work. The AI understands your intent, so you don't need exact commands. Once you accept, the vendor and customer are notified that a rider is on the way.
Good to know
Only one rider can accept a delivery. If another rider has already accepted, you'll be notified. Deliveries you've accepted appear in your Deliveries list in the portal.
Picking Up & Delivering
Delivery lifecycle
Step by step
Head to the vendor. Use the vendor address shown in the delivery details. The delivery may include pickups from one or more vendors.
Confirm pickup. When you've collected the order, let Atlas know on WhatsApp: "picked up", "got it", "collected". All vendor orders must be marked as ready before you can confirm pickup.
Head to the customer. The customer's delivery address is in the delivery details. Navigate there and hand over the order.
Confirm delivery. Tell Atlas on WhatsApp: "delivered", "done", "dropped off". The customer and vendor are notified, and the delivery is complete.
Tip
Keep the customer and Atlas updated if there are delays. Just message naturally. "Stuck in traffic", "arriving in 5 minutes", "vendor is still preparing". Atlas relays relevant updates automatically.
After delivery
Once you confirm delivery, the customer is asked to confirm receipt. Your earnings for that delivery are added to your balance and will be included in your next payout.
Payouts & Earnings
You earn a share of the delivery fee on every completed delivery. Atlas collects payment from customers and settles your earnings to your bank account.
How earnings work
Each delivery has a delivery fee paid by the customer. You receive your share of that fee once the delivery is confirmed as complete. You can see exactly what you earned on each delivery in the Deliveries section of your portal.
Setting up your bank account
Go to Payouts in the nav.
Click Add Bank Account.
Select your bank and enter your account number. Atlas verifies it automatically.
Save. Your payouts will be sent to this account going forward.
Important
Set up your bank account before you start delivering. Without one, your earnings accumulate but can't be transferred.
Payout schedule
Payouts are processed daily at end of day. Your Payouts page shows your earnings breakdown (today, this week, this month, all time), payout history, and your next payout date.
Viewing your earnings
Your dashboard shows total earnings and today's earnings at a glance. For a detailed breakdown, go to the Payouts page where you can see earnings by period and a list of recent completed deliveries with the rider share for each one.
Tips & FAQ
What if the vendor isn't ready when I arrive?
Just wait and let Atlas know. Say "vendor is still preparing" or "order not ready yet". The customer will be updated automatically. You can only confirm pickup after the vendor marks the order as ready.
Can I deliver by bicycle?
Yes. Atlas supports bicycle, motorcycle, and car. Set your vehicle type in your profile. Delivery assignments take your vehicle type and proximity into account.
What if the customer isn't available?
Message Atlas on WhatsApp. Say "customer not answering" or "no one at the address". Our support team will help coordinate. Don't leave the order unattended without confirmation.
Can I choose which deliveries to take?
Yes. You can accept or decline any delivery request. However, consistently declining requests may affect how often you receive new ones.
How do I take a break or go offline?
Set your availability to Offline. You won't receive any new delivery requests. You can also adjust your operating hours in Profile to reflect your regular schedule.
How do I contact support?
Message us on WhatsApp at any time. You can also visit the Support page for more options.
